Who Would You Like To kill This Christmas?

Ho Ho Ho! And again, Ho Ho Ho! ¬†Enough already!! I think you get the gist.. holidays, special occasions – in fact anything which involves a bunch of people getting together who are called ‘relations’ has the potential to ignite. Normally fuelled by the warmth of a Dutch lager or sickly pint of Tia Maria anything can happen.. It’s the seething undertone of unresolved arguments, differences of opinions, and personality clashes that form the seasonal powder keg. In my family this was partly resolved by a game of Trivial Pursuit. Nobody knew the answers to any of the questions and this blanket of mutual ignorance doused any potential flames of nigglyness. We also kept well clear of any controversial topic – yes, the interesting ones. So Sam the dog was top of the list. Isn’t he cute/ his health/ silly habits/ time for a walk/ to be fed…etc..and this was enough time filler before the telly took over.

Thus numbed by over-eating / drinking and mundane, ‘air freshener’ chit chit – it was yet another flatline christmas.. absence of violence and fights but at what cost..?
